How dare the country run driving instructors down!
Yes there are corrupt ones, drunks, drug addicts, those who steal the applicant’s money and run off! SAIDI strongly
condemns these practices and has always opposed those guilty of every form of corruption and has attempted and is
attempting right now to set high standards in the driving school industry!
Our members comply with our code of conduct (Refer
to SAIDI code of conduct). Even so, I challenge the South African Government to name one driving
instructor who has been thoroughly trained at Government
expense in the last 30 years!
Those of us who have achieved a high standard have done so
at our own expense and through years of dedicated
application to the private training we have paid for, since
we found the Government unwilling to sponsor training for
people with private
businesses. We wanted to attend traffic training colleges
with the examining officers but were refused permission. Nor would they let us pay for that training. I
wonder if the South African public is aware of this detail?
Considering the countries notorious death statistics it is
time this was changed as a matter of urgency.
SAIDI.CO.ZA has prepared comprehensive training programmes for any
driving instructor based directly on the Road Traffic
Legislation. We are more than willing to offer them for
accreditation and national training of not only driving
instructors, but taxi drivers too!
The Government
should make use of this material especially in
view of the staff shortages in National and Provincial
Departments. The Government is mistaken not to use training
material that was designed specifically for this purpose.
The training material is constantly updated to include the
latest laws!
